Let me start by saying I am not a lifelong Penn State football fan. Throughout my radio career, I’ve adopted the local college team as MY team. I’ve followed and been a fan of West Virginia, Ohio State, The Citadel, Colorado State, Central Florida and of course Penn State.
There’s been a lot of talk of Penn State football this week in light of the sanctions dished out by the NCAA. It’s not going to be easy for anyone associated with the team.
But this is not the time to abandon them.
I think NOW more than EVER you should be supporting the Nittany Lions. Buy a ticket. Wear blue & white. Go to a game. And CHEER FOR THE TEAM.
Wednesday more than 30 players on the team said they will stay at Penn State and not transfer to another school.
“We take this as an opportunity to create our own legacy, “ said senior Michael Mauti. “This program was not built by one man and it’s sure as hell not going to get torn down by one man.”
Don’t take out the horrendous acts of one man on the current team.
My fiance and his family have had season tickets since the 60s. we just got our packet with all of our tickets yesterday! We will be there loud and proud this season. We love Penn State Football so much we planned our wedding around the game schedule andwill not be taking our honeymoon until football season is over.
Hope to see you at the games Rocky!
PSU FOOTBALL vs NCAA
i hope everyone is in agreemet with rocky and myself....yes what happened was horrible and those who did those acts should be punished and giving them " 3 hots and a cot" is not punishment i feel it should be a lot more harsher punishment.....as for the PSU fottball program well 1. why take victories away from a dead person? he coached those teams to victory but he did not "win" those games the PLAYERS did trust me i am not taking anything away from JoePa he was an awesome guy/person/coach but the facts are the facts.....and no bowl games for 4 years? how is that even related to what happened it happened at the PSU locker rooms not at a bowl game?......i hope all the football players get together and rally and beat all thier oppenets this up coming year and prove to the NCAA that it's football program might have been tarnished by sandusky but it's still a universal force to be reckoned with!
Penn State Proud
so truly said. my oldest daughter graduated from the Leham Campus, my son is
graduating this August and my third daughter will finish up as well from the same campus next year. My nephews attended the main campus along with many of my friends children. One man's dirty laundry shouldn't stain everyone elses'. Still PENN STATE PROUD and always will be.
We STILL are PENN STATE!
Thanks for responding guys. I'm hoping for big things this season support wise for the Lions. I haven't been to a game in years, but that will change this season.
For the Glory!
As a senior at PSU Wilkes-Barre, I must say I could not agree more with you, Rocky. All of my closest friends from school and I all purchased season tickets in June, and we plan on attending every game...not just to support the football team, but the University's students, faculity, alumni, and enitre Penn State community as a whole. WE ARE PENN STATE!!!
