Jeff & Amanda's Recipes Chef Mike Tried!
Today Chef Michael Langdon joined us in studio to talk about tomorrow night's season premiere of Hell's Kitchen! He's the executive chef at Huntsville Golf Club and will be competing on Hell's Kitchen this season. Jeff and Amanda both cooked up their favorite healthy meal and asked Chef Mike to taste them. Here are the recipes for both dishes:
Amanda's Chicken Tortillas:
-Cook 1-2 pounds of boneless skinless chicken breasts in the slow cooker in 1-2 cups of lime juice and sprinkle in cumin. Cook on high for 4 hours. Shred chicken and place back into crock pot. (clean out the crock pot)
-Add 1-2 cups of corn and 1 cup of salsa to shredded chicken and cook on low for 1 hour.
-Serve in warm flour tortilla with shredded cheddar cheese.
Jeff's Protein Pancakes:
Buy a quality protein powder. (I recommend Beverly International UMP (available locally at Fitness Headquarters). Mix with egg whites and blend to desired thickness. Cook as you would regular pancakes. Mix in fresh blueberries before pancake begins to firm up on grill. Cook to a light brown and garnish (like that word?) with SUGAR-FREE maple syrup available at any supermarket. The taste is awesome and you will be eating a very high protein meal with virtually no fat or carbs!

Stroudsburg High School Marching Band Perform ONE HIT WONDERS!
We love hearing about the awesome things happening in our local school's music departments! Remember the school band days of having to learn some weird old music you've never heard before? Those days are over at Stroudsburg High School and we just had to share this video with you. SHS's Marching Band put together a ONE HIT WONDER show that is SO good! We're still amazed that they can walk, play an instrument, and rearrange themselves all at the same time, but they do it ... and they do it incredibly well! These are the kinds of programs that not only keep students interested in perfecting and practicing their talents, but also create a sense of community for the students involved. We hear so much about bullying and the negative things happening in our schools, but here's some good news. See the talent! A lemonade stand to benefit the Hope for Hannah Rescue. Nicholas and Michael Gowarty adopted their dog from the resue eight months ago and wanted to help give back. Their entire neighborhood wanted to help with the fundraiser, so it's basically turned into a block party!

Jeff makes BIG MAC sauce and Amanda tries it for the first time!
McDonald's released the recipe to their BIG MAC sauce and we found out that Amanda has never had a Big Mac. Jeff bought two big macs, one with sauce and one without. Then he made his own big mac sauce from the recipe and Amanda tried them both, attempting to guess which one was the real one. She picked JEFF'S!
