I’m starting to think I have some serious OCD issues.
This week I was talking about my latest issue…parking at work.  I like to park in the same general area every morning.  Again, not in the exact same spot, I’m not that OCD!  Definitely not Jack Nicholson-As Good As it Gets OCD.  But yeah…I do like some order and routine in my life.
Lately Lissa has been disturbing that order! :)  She’s the first one to park in the morning and has the pick of the entire lot.  I cruise in half asleep right after her and use her car as a guide as to where to park…2nd spot over to her left.
This week she kept switching her spot.  Wednesday she parked so far to the left in our lot that when I lined up with her I was almost in our driveway.
Hey Liss:  Pick a spot and stay with it!
As I read this back, I’m starting to realize that I may have some OCD issues.
If you are a regular listener of the morning show you’ve heard a “few” of them:
--Can’t eat at buffets.
--Won’t start eating popcorn at movie theatre until credits finish.
--Never use the shower or toilet during a thunderstorm.
So are these silly little quirks or serious OCD concerns?

Save Money on Textbooks

If you're starting college, plan on spending on average $1500/year on textbooks.  Yikes.  And there's always that one required book that's going to set you back $100-$200.  Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I think the book publishers are in cahoots with all schools.  Why do they keep changing one small thing in a required text?  So you have to buy the newest version!

Our listeners came up with a great list of websites offering discounted textbooks or books that you can rent.

If you know any other places to get cheap text books, add them to the comment section below.

And good luck in school this semester.

Endure Bike Ride Pics

If you were driving down Wyoming Avenue on Sunday, you not only saw 200+ cyclists but an "E-5" stencil on the roadway.  The E-5 commemorated the 5th year of the Endure Run & Ride.

This year nearly 1.5 million people will hear the words "you have cancer."  And every year, we get on our bikes and ride to try and prevent that from happening.

No surprise, my Trek bike is powered by Dunkin!

Some great people...Melanie and Mike from the American Cancer Society.

Endure registration at Wilkes University...7:30am.

My riding buddy Brian Coe from the Penguins and I doing our best to look comfortable wearing the way-too-tight jerseys!

Endure 5 is underway.

2 great rides...36 or 62 miles.

Here's the coolest part of the ride...cruising down Wyoming Avenue.  Special thanks to all the police officers and volunteers that helped block traffic.

If you participated or donated to any of the riders, THANK YOU!!!

We along with the American Cancer Society are trying to create a world with LESS cancer and MORE birthdays.

A Smurf-tastic Weekend!

I got all Smurfy this weekend on my monthly Big Brother outing.  Meet Nicholas, a way cool 8 year old, looking for a match.  We didn't plan it, but we both wore blue to go see Smurfs 2 at Wilkes-Barre Movies 14.

Little Brother, big soda!  Think Nick finished it?

Good call on the Starburst Nicholas!

We hit the game room after the movie.

Does anyone win at these games?  Nick was going for the Ipod.

Special thanks to Wilkes-Barre Movies 14 and BBBS advisor Melissa for a great day!

You can really make a difference in a young person's life...volunteer to be a Big Brother or Big Sister TODAY.

CLICK HERE for more info on becoming a Big.

And don't forget about the 7th Annual WALK AROUND WILKES-BARRE Thursday August 15, 5:30-10pm.  We always have a blast eating & drinking in downtown Wilkes-Barre as we move from place to place for the different courses.  Our friend Candice Kelly from WBRE-TV will be joining us too!

Call Alan Stout at 824.8756 to secure your ticket.
