We’ve all been in this situation before. You’re watching a movie with your parents and suddenly there’s a scene that makes you squirm. Maybe you sit there an act like nothing is happening. Or maybe you get up to get a drink or make popcorn.
A few years ago Sue’s parents insisted they wanted to see the Borat movie.
“We hear it’s supposed to be really funny,” they said.
Yeah, it’s funny alright!
Thanks to Borat’s accent, they didn’t pick up on most of the dialogue but they did SEE the nude wrestling scene with Borat and his obese friend/movie producer.
We still laugh about it.
How about you?
When I was 15 I begged my Dad to take me to see “A History of Violence” because I was a big fan of the lead actor. I had no idea that there would be oral sex scenes. Can you say awkward?
Porky's the first one I was 13 watching it with my mom.... Ugh!
Ted!!! My 14 year old tricked me into it and said it was about a magical teddy bear.
Flight w my dad.... The opening scene was of an alarm clock going off & it zooms out 2 show half of a naked lady & u can see her boob. Then it pans out again so u can see her back & i was "well that was interesting" to fill the gap & my dad was like yeah. & then she gets up off the bed & walks to the camera! She was totally naked & u could see EVERYTHING! I was like oh my gosh
I saw Unfaithful in the theaters with my parents... I guess we didn't know what it was about.... bad idea
My great aunt and uncle took me to see There's Something about Mary when it was in theatres.
OMG took my 17-year-old niece to see Black Swan. I was mortified
With my mother--The girl with the dragon tattoo.
The sex scene in 300.. I watched it with both my parents and I'm 15. Ridiculously awkward.
I watched the girl with the dragon tattoo with my dad. The rape scenes... Can you say awkward?
Eddie Murphy delirious!! I was pretending I didn't know what the bad words meant!!
Love and other Drugs was an intense movie to watch with my 50 Year old parents!
My mom, my sister and me went to see Sex and the City 2. The shower scene with Gilles Marini, I think my Mom said something like, "Hmmmm, okay, that's interesting." lol!
As far as violent films go, the best had to be Robocop. My grandfather & uncle took me to the Casino Theater in Mt. Pocono when it came it in '88 ... I was 12 ... I don't think they knew how bloody & violent it was before going to see it lol
Zack and Miri make a porno came on tv when we were watching as a family. My parents kept it on. Awkward.
9 1/2 Weeks, I'll never live down the all the sexual content that was continuous haha!!!
Definitely "American Pie" when I was about 14 years old.. you could actually feel the awkward in the room at the time.
The Adam Sandler movie "That's my boy " with my 91 year old grandma. She had her hands over her eyes.
Die Hard with a vengeance when I was like 10. Too much cursing!
The Color of Night with Bruce Willis. I was 13 and watched it with not only my mom, but our PRIEST as well.
I got into a big debate last night on my Facebook page over the above pic of Kale.
So called veggie "experts" were claiming what I sauteed WAS NOT Kale. :)
Kale is one of the healthiest veggies on the planet. It's very high in beta carotene, vitamins K & C and rich in calcium. Some think eating Kale on a regular basic could provide significant health benefits, including cancer protection and lowered cholesterol.
I'm trying to eat more of this so-called SUPER FOOD.
And yes, veg heads, what I cooked last night WAS indeed Kale...organic BABY Kale.
That being said, anyone have any killer Kale recipes to make this stuff easier to eat? My Kale, red pepper, jalapeno, carrot & white wine sautee was ok, but it needed something to jazz it up.
We had a listener ask for some Valentine’s Day advice. Her plan? To wait until Valentine’s Day to break the news to her guy that she was preggers. This is something they both wanted to happen, but he still doesn’t know.
And yesterday morning we debated…is this a good or bad idea?
My take? DON’T WAIT!!! Why withhold this information? Put yourself in the guy’s shoes. Wouldn’t you want to know IMMEDIATELY?
Sure, it sounds like a cutesy idea to surprise your guy on Valentine’s Day with some funny little Baby Daddy card, but what’s the first thing that he’s going to say?
“WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL ME SOONER???!!!”
Don’t do it. Valentine’s Day is a special day for YOU ladies…don’t cloud it with the baby news. Keep that special on a separate day.
Depends if they discussed it and wanted a child. She should use her judgment--she knows him better than the listeners do.
U have all these guys now wondering if they’re that guy . And just for that I think she should wait for Valentine’s Day . LOL
Give him a Happy Valentine’s Day Daddy card.
Waiting isnt a bad idea but I think she should share the news at home now; more personal & intimate then celebrate on V-day.
I think it's an excellent idea. I don't think he'd be upset as long as she didn't tell a bunch of other people before him.
I don't understand why she even took a test without him knowing that it was a possibility.
Tell restaurant to bring a baby high chair to the table.
Finding out a week ago is no big deal if wants children then that news at dinner would be the icing on the cake what wonderful news on Valentine’s day she wasnt keeping anything from him that’s nonsense.
I being a guy don't think it’s a bad idea to tell him on Valentine's day but if he is that excited about having a baby I wouldn't have told anyone until he knows.

By now you’ve probably heard about the 18 year old Scranton Prep student and the alleged threat he made Monday on Twitter.
Torre Scrimalli of Scranton tweeted: "If there is a Facebook or twitter fight tonight over the HC MV game I will just blow up the schools and students involved. #goonsquad."
Thanks to this senseless message, 2 schools were evacuated and the basketball game rescheduled.
Let’s face it. Any perceived threat, real or otherwise, must be taken seriously.
Personally, I think jail time is a bit extreme. But Scrimalli should be forced to repay any costs involved in making sure the schools were safe.
And if you haven’t done so already, sit down with your kids and refresh their memory about the internet. It’s also known as the WORLD WIDE web. We all have it. AND we all can see what is posted. Think before you post!
Your thoughts are always welcome.
Here’s listener reaction from today’s show--
This kid caused a basketball game to be evacuated and caused two schools to be searched at the taxpayer’s expense. Just because he said he's sorry, people thinks it is okay.
Bad parenting has its consequences. His parents should have taught him better about those things.
Maybe wear a sign for a month explaining what he did.
You're doing a great job. No one is perfect. When it happens to them or their child, they'll feel differently. And happen it will.
There are legal, social and moral consequences to our actions. He apologized primarily because he was caught. As a police officer and former SRO, I realize that students are prone to rash decisions, however, it has been my experience that school policy and penal law are clear on communicating any type of threat.
It's a lesson for everyone--mostly in empathy. Torry made a mistake. We all do.
Is he 18? Community service for the whole summer to help the people who have to deal with these situations and at the homeless shelter so he learns and appreciates what he has.
Learning experience with a judge approved written report on what he learned.
He’s not a kid any more. It’s time our young people take responsibility for their acts. They sometimes think they can get away from everything.
Computer and phone would be thrown in the safe indefinitely, a written apology would be made and read in the presence of a teacher or school official.
In this day & age I’m sure he was well aware how wrong it is. I don’t buy that it was a mistake.
Make him go to schools in this area and speak to other kids about how something so stupid could cost you so much.
He is only 18 and has his whole life ahead of him. He had no intention of carrying out what he posted. I believe public humiliation is enough for him and his family.
Kids have to be taught that words can’t be taken back, especially on the internet. I think jail is a little extreme but he should definitely have to pay for the resources used (police, drug sniffing dogs) and perform community service.
