So…. as the “new kid” in town, we’re conducting a little research to help complete my initiation into Northeast P.A. What things do I NEED to do? What places do I need to see? Basically, tell me what makes this area famous. Or infamous. Suggest to me ANYTHING you think I need to try in order to become a true NEPA homegirl! Places, festivals, food, sporting events, etc. Then we’re gonna narrow down your suggestions, take the best ones, and I’ll tackle them one by one (I may even bring my parents on a few outings – they’ll be visiting from Michigan during the weekend of August 21 & 22). Thanks for ALL the great suggestions so far & keep ‘em coming!
Email me or call us on the air tomorrow morning –

Suggestions we’ve gotten so far:

Pittston Tomato Festival “Tomato Fights”
Infield at Pocono Downs
Wilkes Barres Giant Cow
Spring Brook Twp Volunteer Fire Company Cow Flop.
This is fun times! Watching a cow poop on your square to try to win money. $10/ticket and you can win between $500 and $2500. Also, raffle baskets, over 100 of them. Food, beer! Always a great time!
hmmm - well, wings at the Windsor would be a start and don't forget about the largest natural pothole in Archbald.
Lissa...it's the pink slippers
Don't feel bad though. Yes, like Rocky, my mom dresswd me funny too. I dread that old photo album coming out with the pics of little me in my Easter sailors outfit. AHOY!
