Yesterday Team KRZ hit the pavement for the Endure Bike Ride to benefit the American Cancer Society. What an awesome day for this event! And thanks to my teammate Brian Coe of the WB/Scranton Penguins, we raised $1235 for the ACS.
200+ bike riders left Wilkes U @ 8:15am. Some did the 10 mile course, others chose the more challenging 36 or 62.
I did the 36 miler that snaked thru the Back Mountain.
What a GREAT start to the ride! Public Square in Wilkes-Barre and Wyoming Ave. was totally blocked to let our fellow riders go thru. I don't mind SHARING the road, but it's even better when you OWN it!!!
Here's our course...challenging for a novice rider like myself, but not brutal. Think about signing up next year, or better yet, join Team KRZ.
My Dad would've been 90 yesterday, so I rode with his watch in my back pocket. It was comforting having him with me all 36 miles.
Tutu girl. Wonder if that's aerodynamic?
I'll probably be doing the radio show standing up all this week! If you've ever been on a bike for any length of time, you know why!
Thanks to Endure Ride organizers Brian & Vince for putting together an incredible ride.
