According to industry insiders, the summer of 2014 was not a good one for the folks who make motion pictures. They say it’s the worst summer box-office-wise since 1997.
There were a lot of movies you could call highly-anticipated that highly-tanked. Among them: Melissa McCarthy’s Tammy; Seth MacFarlane’s A Million Ways to Die in the Old West; and Tom Cruise’s Edge of Tomorrow.
The best-grossing movie of the season was the highly-unexpected Guardians of the Galaxy – pushing close to the $300-million mark.
Back to the drawing board, boys and girls. Or more importantly, the storyboard.
