Kay, so I'm permanently indebted to the WWE for putting us ringside at the Smackdown event last night! My brother Andy is perhaps the BIGGEST wrestling fan in the universe and we both lost our minds when we saw our great seats! I interviewed the Miz earlier yesterday morning, so I guess this was their way of saying thanks. Ummm..... you're very welcome!!!! :)
If you look closely (on Syfy Channel Friday night) you'll see our faces in the broadcast. Right behind the announcers. I'm the one bottom left, smiling like an idiot. My bro is to my right and my boyfriend on my left. What a GREAT SHOW! And always cool to see hundreds of kids out at these events, so excited and in awe!! Even us grown-up kids. Pretty amazed!
Gee, I wonder which one's Lissa. #superfan
The Miz w/ Rocky, Lissa, & Freddie = VERY nice, cool guy!
It's been a CRAZY last few weeks of summer here! Between KISS & Def Lep at Montage, me getting nominated for two Electric City Music Conference Awards (thank you BTW), apartment hunting with my boyfriend (cohabitation time - yikes haha), and my friends having wonderful fun celebrations (babies & birthdays), it's almost escaped me that summer is ending. I don't mind - I love fall! Always been my favorite season.
I'm THRILLED I got to see two of my best friends I rarely see - the first, Nicole (those of you who've seen me play live, you know I wrote a song for her "Nicole's Song") I hung out with her Saturday. SUCH an inspiration, such a joy to me! And we always laugh til we cry!
And then on Tuesday I went to the Pitbull concert in Allentown with my girl Danielle! You may remember Danielle as our former intern - she was on the air with us for a semester in 2012. She's a friend for LIFE definitely!! She's finishing up school at Temple (gradutes in December) so I'm gonna try to get her a job here! Haha of course...
It's been a VERY happy couple days for me! Two of the biggest reasons are 1) my best friend Desiree giving birth to a beeeeeautiful healthy baby boy last Wednesday - his name is Giovanni, he's an angel with a smile that never goes away! And 2) a TERRIFIC turnout for Frankie's Voice 5K on Sunday! This run/walk was in memory of 24 yr old Frank Bonacci from Dunmore who was killed last year at this time. All proceeds went to anti-violence and children's advocacy groups. We had the organizers and some of Frankie's family on the air with us on Friday - wonderful people!
And look for this race footage on Dateline at some point, the crew was there all morning filming us. I'm sure they're doing a whole episode on Frankie. Thanks everyone who made this such an inspirational day!
Jenis and I meeting Desiree's baby Gio!
Played a gig at Andy Gavin's the night before the race, BIG THANKS to my girls Missy & Jen Esken for coming out!
Frankie's Voice 5K Run/Walk!! Orange was his favorite color....
My boyfriend convinced me to walk instead of run. That's how you know it's true love.
Yesterday was my 4th anniversary on air at WKRZ. Seems like just yesterday I was getting death threats cuz I was "new".... awwwwww. When I first moved here, I'd never been to Pennsylvania in my LIFE - I was terrified! Didn't know a soul, I cried a few (or more) times a week cuz I missed my family, never had money (hey did you know moving's expensive? derrrrr), and my apartment in Wilkes Barre was smack in the middle of Stabby Row. Not good times.
But now, happily settled, beautiful safe apartment in Pittston, boyfriend I love in Scranton, friends I'll have for the rest of my LIFE, and listeners who (save a few nutjobs) stopped threatening to kill me a long time ago. Haha I really appreciate everyone I've met in this NEPA community! I feel like the KRZ family is my own and I truly treasure it and thank God for it. Doesn't mean I don't cry from time to time cuz I miss my Michigan family, but knowing I have friends who'll watch a "Girl Meets World" premiere with me in sweatpants at 10pm on a Friday night and actually call it a "party" - well if that's not family I don't know what is ;) I mean this: I love you! And you, and you, and you, and you... Thanks for everything!
Yesterday was kind of a bummer day, spent Father's Day working in NYC, always hard to be separated from my mom & dad on holidays. Then on my way home, heading through Port Authority, I gave my sandwich to a homeless guy who wasn't homeless. Womp womp. So there's that.
But TODAY we're interviewing Jennifer Lopez! Woot!! So I wore my extra large J.Lo hoop earrings! Was feeling BADASS til I ran my fingers through my hair and pinky totally snagged, almost ripping my ear off……. That's why she's Jenny from the block and I'm Lissy from the farm.
I'm sorry to do this to you, but I have to share a couple supercute pics of my boyfriend and I. I'm extremely freaked out that I'm so blissfully happy and losing all traces of cynicism, but it appears I'm smitten and there's nothing wrong with him. I know. Disgusting. If you wanna stop being friends with me, I understand.
Here we are at a wedding party yesterday :) And the pic below is my first EVER Phillies game! I'll try to space these out so you don't throw up in your mouth. But HAPPY JUNE!! haha loooove youuuuuuu!!!
Just wanted to say THANKS everyone who made it out to the V Spot for my gig with Jackson Vee for his BIRTHDAY Thursday night! We had a blast, hope you did too!!
I remember when I met Jackson three years ago, when I first moved here. I was volunteering, hosting a bunch of benefits for various causes, just to get to know the community. I must've hosted 20 charity/benefit music shows. And every. single. one. had Jackson Vee playing at it. Not only is he a hilarious, super talented musician but he offers his time and talents whenever he can to help other people. That's one of the biggest reasons I wanted to collaborate with him. We absolutely love playing togetherm, so thank you EVERYBODY for making his birthday a happy one!!!
With Vinnie, owner of the V Spot before our gig..... pretty much captures the mood of the night.
Lissa Lou was in 7th heaven over the weekend, hosting the M3 ROCK FESTIVAL in Columbia Maryland! I was with my rock radio show, The Tour Bus – my cohost Ralph and I had a BLAST with all the bands! Nightranger, Slaughter, Queensryche, Sebastian Bach, Winger, Lita Ford, LA Guns, Tesla, Extreme, Kix, Great White, just to name a few. Hanging at events like this you get to see true musicians in their element, timeless, and most of them are the nicest people you’d ever wanna meet.
BUT the major highlight of the weekend was my drive home! Got to swing by my cousin’s house and hang with her super cute kids and some more adult cousins for a few beauuuuutiful hours – FAMILY IS THE BEST! Warmed my heart and recharged my batteries for another busy week.
with Jack Blades from Nightranger/Damn Yankees
with Reb Beach from Winger
John Corabi, formerly of Motley Crue, was bragging to everyone at dinner about how I did a great job opening for him last summer = PINCH ME!! This was one of my most cherished moments of all time! My cohost snapped a pic in the moment (thanks Ralphy)

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand my biggest rock stars of all....
My cousin Lucy!!! We made Play-doh Oreos.... I think they look pretty yummy, no?
And cousin William cracking me up....
What a wonderful weekend!!! Now, off to get my oil changed. Put almost a thousand miles on the car in a week, sheesh!
