Hi friends! It's been a hectic week or so, but I wanted to take a minute to share some pretties with you for a great cause. This is not a paid endorsement, I just love these bangles and love that the company keeps is all here in the U.S. and gives lots of money to charity. While we don't have an Alex and Ani store here in Pennsylvania (YET!) they ARE popping up all over the country and have a booming website as well. Alex and Ani is a company that is based in my hometown of Crantston, RI. They are constantly releasing new bangles and charms ... and each of them has a story to tell and a purpose - of spreading positive energy. I've been collecting these bracelets for a while now and shared a few over the summer, including the GODMOTHER one I was given at my godchildren's Christening.
For Christmas, I received 3 new Alex and Ani bracelets that have quickly become some of my favorites.
Pictured above is the TODAY IS AN OPPORTUNITY BANGLE which represents Courage | Appreciation | Influence.
Opportunity is here; invite it in. In this moment you can choose to take action and contribute your gifts of courage, kindness, and love. You have the ability to allow your light to shine and illuminate another. Today is an opportunity to lead, to inspire, to volunteer, to make a difference.
20% of all Alex and Ani sales of the Today is an Opportunity Charm, with a minimum donation of $10,000, will go directly to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network to advance research, support patients, and create hope for anyone affected by pancreatic cancer.
(See why I love these so much?)
Then there's the arrow ... which is the STAND UP TO CANCER BANGLE. It stands for Collaborate | Honor | Change.
In this moment lives are changing. People are uniting, standing up to better the world, and protecting the future. Together we are unstoppable. Join the movement and stand up to honor, connect, and accelerate change.
20% of all Alex and Ani sales of the Stand Up Charm, with a minimum donation of $10,000, will go directly to Stand Up To Cancer, a ground-breaking initiative created to accelerate innovative cancer research that will get new therapies to patients quickly and save lives now.
The purple? That's my birthstone and my godchildren gave me that one on Christmas Eve! :)
If you're looking for a gift for ANYONE in your life ... these bracelets stand for a lot, give back a lot, and are crowd pleasers. :) Spreading the positive love and energy ... i'm out until 2013! (That sounds way longer than it is!) Jeff and I return on Wednesday! XOXO Have a safe and Happy NEW YEAR!
I'm TOTALLY not one of those people that is fearing the world will end tomorrow, but JUST IN CASE it does . . . it's been real! I guess you could consider this an end of the year, Merry Christmas kind of post too. It's been an awesome year and thank you for listening each day, checking out the blog, and for all of your awesome Facebook messages. We've had a really fun year on the show and are looking forward to lots of laughs in the new year!
I'm taking a few days off to spend some time with my family and my in-laws to be, but will return late next week! Have a Merry Christmas! XO
I was off on Friday because my best friend since childhood got married! Sarah and Shawn got married Saturday in the church we grew up in and then partied the night away at the Foxwoods MGM Grand in Connecticut. She looked INCREDIBLE and it was a beautiful day. It flurried in the morning, so there was a nice coating of snow on the ground ... enough to be pretty without getting in our way! CONGRATS to Sarah and Shawn! :) That was our last wedding to attend of the year ... so now it's time to get through Christmas and get planning our FALL wedding! Eee! I'm going to have a separate BRIDAL BLOG starting next week to keep everyone up to speed with the plans! It's getting REAL. :)
