2.29 Happy Leap Day!

It's an old Irish tradition that women typically propose to men on Leap Day ... anyone being daring and popping the question today? We were surprised to find yesterday on the show that over 50% of men would WANT their girl to propose ... but 20% of men would be angry. I mean really, i'd feel so bad taking that exciting experience away from a guy. Most girls grow up dreaming about their wedding and i've heard men spend some time as boys dreaming up proposals. (I highly doubt that, but people say!) Anyway, Happy Leap Day! I only know one person who was born on a Leap year ... so Happy Birthday Paige! I babysat for her family a few times growing up and we belonged to the same church/softball league.

It's Email Wednesday at 4 ... you can tune in or check us out on PA LIVE on BRE at 4! Andddd ... our Old Navy Outfits of the Week! My pants are much cooler than they look in this picture. They have blue and white pinstripes - they're fun! (If you go for Old Navy skinny jeans ... go a size up!)

2.27
To sum up my weekend ... one of my best friends and I stuck out like a sore thumb wherever we went. Have you ever felt like everywhere you went, people were staring you up and down? Awkward. It's like they could TELL we were tourists trying not to act touristy. We spent Saturday and Sunday in NYC at a fancy hotel in the Meat Packing district. It's really nice there ... the total opposite of the Times Square-touristy feel of that part of the city.  We were on the water, by Chelsea Market, and walking cobblestone streets. It was reallllllly pretty ... but we just didn't seem to fit in. First, a woman getting into our hotel elevator with us stared us up and down, repeatedly. Then we had an appointment at the spa ... where we were asked to lower our voices during our pedicure. Apparently we were too loud for the nail room? WEIRD! I don't know if everyone around us was snobby or if we genuinely were loud and obnoxious. We were only one mimosa in!!! We had a good time walking The High Line Elevated Park ... that's this pic ...

We drank fancy champagne in our hotel room ... (post birthday celebration!)

... and then we had dinner at the Spice Market, which was SO pretty and really funky!

2.24 Rock & Republic comes to Kohls!
I love when designers bring their lines to department stores so us common folk can induldge in their fashion! Rock & Republic recently brought the line to KOHLS and right now everything is 30% off.  I had some expired Kohls cash that the store HONORED (did you know they do that?) and I picked up some R&R flats (which are super cute) to wear in the city tomorrow. I'm meeting one of my best friends, Dana, in NYC for a girl's weekend. We're staying at pretty funky hotel in the Meat Packing district and our times together are usually clouded in memory by numerous bottles of champagne. She's the kind of friend that when we get together ...we don't even have to do anything or even leave where we are because we just talk, talk, and talk more ... non-stop. It's effortless. But yeah, needed flats for city walking and R&R at Kohls is freaking amazing. Check it out before everything is gone and picked over. Right now the selection is awesome ... online too ... everything 30% off from the line!

2.22 Are Cottonelle bathroom wipes something you should hide when you have compa
Today on Email Wednesday ... a guy wrote in and asked whether or not people use those moist Cottonelle toilet wipes and if that's something you should hide when you have company over. His wife leaves them out because they are in a decorative container. I don't think it's a big deal to leave them out and know a bunch of people who use them ... I mean, the container looks the same as the ones makeup remover wipes come in. Jeff thinks it's gross to leave them out for people to see. What do you think? Tune into PA LIVE at 4 on BRE for Email Wednesday ... or join in on the convo on your radio at 4!
And .... check out our Old Navy OUTFITS of the WEEK! My flats are even from Old Navy!

2.15
I'm not whining about my age at all, but I have to admit ... 26 sounds weird. Tomorrow, I cross over to the other side of my 20's ... but I feel like I just celebrated by 21st birthday. I guess when they say time flies, it's true. Boyfriend's parents sent me the nicest flowers today for my birthday, signed "Boyfriend's Parents!" They're awesome and it was such a nice surprise! Boyfriend's birthday is just a few days after mine ... so we're having quite an eventful week here!

2.14 Happy Day of LOVE!!
Happy Valentine's Day! If you're one of those mean people who tries to squash everyone else's lovey dovey heart shaped day by whining that it's a "Hallmark Holiday" then you might want to quit reading now.  I like the day of love. I also like feeling and showing love every other day too ... but it doesn't mean today can't be extra special and filled with calories that don't count that come in the shape of strawberries drenched in chocolate! :) Maybe it's just me embracing my girliness ... but Valentine's Day is the bomb.com. Yesterday I baked cupcakes for everyone in the office (forgot to take a picture) that were filled with a strawberry surprise inside. Boyfriend and I celebrated Valentine's Day over the weekend since we'd both be busy with work during the week. He surprised me with a dinner date at Cork in Wilkes Barre (which was SO yum - the blackberry sangria was AMAZING) and he surprised me with this beautiful ring! Man he has good taste in jewelry! Ignore my hands, they're not the cutest - close up! He's the sweetest ...

Then today at work ... these morsels of yumminess showed up on my desk!  Shari's Berries chocolate covered strawberries ... oh my gosh, I ate 3 for lunch. Amazing! <3

Hope your day is filled with candy and hugs! :) Jeff & I are babysitting 3 little kids and sending their parents to The Woodlands for some Valentine's Day ALONE TIME! Pictures and video to come!

2.6
Monday already!? I had a pretty eventful weekend and i'm one step closer to ditching my VW and buying a new car. Aside from that drama ... the Patriots losing last night was a total disappointment, but that's not even the bet I lost. Jeff and I bet on Kelly Clarkson's National Anthem performance. Since most celebs screw it up, I bet that she'd mess up. He said she'd sing it flawlessly ... which she did. She NAILED IT! Of course she did, she's amazing. Makeup was on the line ... and to hold up my end of the bargain, I won't be wearing a stitch of makeup during our segment on PA LIVE this Wednesday on WBRE. I usually wear extra makeup on Wednesdays for TV, so this will be interesting. Honestly, i'm kind of glad someone finally sang it the right way ... a day without makeup can't be THAT bad, right?

This morning ... Jeff and I visited Chester St. School and read to the 4th and 5th grade classes for their annual Reading Rally. We read them a story about Jim Thorpe ... the Olympian the town of Jim Thorpe was named after! Thanks for having us ... it was AWESOME meeting you guys!

2.1 David Tutera!

I'm SO excited! The host of one of my favorite shows is going to be on the show!!! Anyone who watches My Fair Wedding on WE probably fell in love with David Tutera ... and i'm so one of them. He plans and executes the most magical weddings! I'm not even one of those girls who has dreamed about wedding my whole life, but his show is SO addicting and incredible, that even Boyfriend watches it with me. David is scheduled to call in on Friday and he has some romantic tips for Valentine's Day!  Until then, here are a few ideas ... Things women want for Valentine's Day (I can totally vouch for the LOVE ring from Etsy!)

Speaking of Valentine's Day ... I read a study today that says you have a 40% chance of getting engaged on Valentine's Day! That many of you are planning to pop the question in 2 weeks?!? If you're reading this and your guy proposing in a super romantic way on Valentine's Day ... email us! We'd love to hear the about mushy romantic proposals ... and the funny ones too!
