Meetings and Progress!
Hey my fellow BRIDES-TO-BE and wedding lovers! :) I'm feeling quite accomplishment this week on the wedding front. Last weekend, John and I compiled our entire guest list and filled in 95% of the addresses in an excel sheet. (He's the computer fancy pants, not me! I just recited the addresses for him to enter!) That's a pretty big step in the process and it feels good to have all of that information stored and ready to go.

This weekend  . . . we're meeting with some vendors and potential vendors! Tomorrow morning we're meeting with Bruce from I'mage Photo Studios (he did our engagement shoot!) to chat about our wedding day and photo stuff. He offers a really cool photo booth, so i'm excited to check that out and see some of his past wedding albums to get some ideas!

After that, we're meeting with a florist we're interested in working with! I've heard incredible things about them and can't wait to meet in person. Of all the undecided factors . . . this is one thing I am certain of . . . I FREAKING love this arch arrangement. It was a PINTEREST find that i'm hoping a florist can help us recreate for our big day. What do you think ladies . . . are you a fan? Are you planning to use branches in your arrangements?

By the way, if you're not following me on Pinterest and want to - just search Amanda on 98.5 KRZ. I'll follow you back. :)
XO Have a great weekend . . . hopefully i'll have some exciting things to post about on Monday after our meetings!

My first wedding planning mini-meltdown . . . happened in the towel section.
I feel silly even admitting this, but I had my first wedding planning mini-meltdown over the weekend . . . at Bed Bath and Beyond. Sad, I know. What kind of sadness or stress could possibly happen there? It's a wonderful world of bed sheets, gadgets, and decor! Unfortunately, it was also the location of my first stress-induced meltdown.

I’m kind of hoping someone reading this will know exactly what I’m talking about bc I’m sort of hoping to not be alone on this one . . .

There we were . . . browsing towels for our gift registry at Bed Bath and Beyond . . . where John was being his typical agreeable laid back self . . . and i'm presenting the options looking for his feedback. That's when it happened. I couldn't make ANOTHER decision. I just couldn't do it. From invitation fonts to color choices to what the heck are we going to do if it rains .  .  . I just couldn't stand to make another choice, even if it was something as simple as WHICH TOWELS TO REGISTER FOR.

The awesome thing about being the groom is . . . John gets to pretty much be kept out of the loop of 85% of the decision making because I know he frankly wouldn't care to have an opinion about most wedding related things. The bride, she has to choose choose choose choose and choose again. There are SO MANY decisions to make . . . so many choices . . . it’s a little overwhelming, but I’m a planner by nature . . . so until this point, it was easy peesy . . . everything was all good. I don't know what came over me at that moment, but choosing towel colors pushed me over the edge. I couldn't bare to choose. Really? I feel ridiculous even admitting this, but I got teary eyed. Pathetic, I know.

I was on decision making overload and had a mini-meltdown right there in the towel section.
I've since gotten my act together, made a few more lists, and completed our registry. John was helpful and did all of the scanning . . . and even made some executive decisions about towel colors and brands while I mentally recovered and laughed it off.

Thankfully, we both laughed it off. He knows I love all of the planning, but it's definitely A LOT to do, choose, and execute. I kind of can't wait for October 12. :) I'm going to be someone's wife! Haha, not just someone, actually the most laid back, go with the flow, awesome guy ever! Gosh, i'm thankful for his patience and love.

For what it's worth .  .  . we went with the purple & grey . . . also our wedding colors. :)

1.14 Holy Checklists
I'm living in a world of checklists and too many boxes are left unchecked. I'm guessing that's how most brides-to-be feel. We all know there is SO MUCH to do, but a lot of things can't be done right away . . . and I know that for me, it leaves me feeling a tad unaccomplished. So to feel like i'm making progress, I make lists.

Being at yesterdays bridal show at the Scranton Cultural Center did make me feel a little better about my state of planning. I met so many brides-to-be (there were about 500 there!!!) that are getting married this summer or sooner who don't have some of the bigger things done and were there to book vendors like DJ's and florists. I've got the DJ, Jeff Walker of course, and we've booked our venue.

Ooooh, I don't think I mentioned this yet. John and I chose to get married at the beautiful Bushkill Inn and Conference Center! It's right down the road from Bushkill Falls (where we plan to take our photos!) and it's a stunning site. We are so excited about everything and the fact that we're basically having everything on location ... from the rehearsal - to rehearsal dinner . . . to overnight accomodations . . . to the cocktail hour and dinner reception. I love that. Once our geusts arrives, it's party time and no one needs to leave! They are going to be building a deck overlooking their lake, which is where our ceremony will be. Ohhh I just can't wait!  http://www.bushkillinn.com/

So, i'll continue to make lists . . . and hopefully start to check some things off of those lists. Hope you brides-to-be are enjoying the planning process and had a blast at yesterdays bridal show. If you missed it, there's another coming up in February! Feb. 17 - Genetti's in Wilkes Barre! Pre-register here : http://nepabridalshow.com/february-17-2013/

This was just something I saw on Facebook and loved. It's an interesting way to look at marriage, especially the early stages. Is there a couple in your life that you want to have a marriage like? I have one in mind. :)

XO Happy Planning Ladies! :) Oh, here's a question . . . can anyone recommend a great videographer? We are looking for one that does contemporary cinematic videos . . . that's not going to blow our budget. Would LOVE some suggestions!

After weeks of searching for the perfect stationary...

After weeks of searching hundreds of stationary websites for a wedding invitiation (and matching day-of stationary) that fit us and our wedding . . . we've given up. Given up the search to start a new project . . . we're going to do them ourselves! It's kind of exciting. With some serious help from my mom and her computer skills, we've decided to make our own invitiations! I know what you're probably thinking ... there's already so much to do, why take on another project when you can just order them online? Because nothing WOWed us! I feel so good about this decision. We can make our invites what we want them to be now ... to fit our theme ... and not have to "just go with" a pre-designed mold! If you're getting married and can't find an invitiation you love ... consider it. There are so many websites that do most of the work for you (especially address labeling the envelopes) and then leave you to do the fun stuff, the design! They even sell the software to make it all happen! Also, with the help of Etsy, I've been finding some beautiful clipart pieces that fit in with our theme!  I can't wait to get started!

Speaking of our theme. Any guesses what we're going with? The entire wedding theme revolves around a gift John gave me on our first Valentine's Day together . . .

So . . . the date is set. The venue is booked. We've hired our photographer and our DJ. (Yes, of course JEFF is dj'ing! I told him we wanted him to be a GUEST, but he insisted on DJ'ing because he wants our day to go perfectly. What a sweetie!)

Still on the immediate agenda is . . . visit a local boutique to check out the bridesmaid dress I fell in love with on Pinterest, (My MOH and I are going this weekend, so i'll check back in on Monday with an update) choose a florist, bakery for the cake, and a jeweler for our rings.

I'm hoping to check some of those things off of my list at this Sunday's BRIDAL SHOW at the Scranton Cultural Center! It really is like a one-stop-shop for everything wedding . . . i've just never needed the services before! :) Getting married? Register to attend for free at 985krz.com or by clicking here! You can even win some awesome door prizes ... including $2,000 CASH. What bride-to-be couldn't use an extra $2,000? According to my calculations, that could pay for all of your stationary, postage, and ... maybe even a spa day! (You like the way I think? Throw in a spa day with the extra cash!? Oh yeah. While you're there, visit Sapphire Salon and Spa - they are the best!)

See you blinging beautiful brides to be on Sunday . . . and the let the wedding planning fun and festivities begin!
