Engagement Photos!
Hi friends! Hope you had a nice holiday with friends and family! I've been dying to post these all week, but had to wait until after Christmas because John and I surprised our parents with a photo on Christmas! We had a secret engagement photo session with Bruce from I'mage Photo Studios and it was so hard to keep quiet about it. We managed to get a lovely December Saturday in downtown Scranton for photos. Bruce is amazing. He does some work with us here at KRZ and I couldn't even consider working with anyone else when it came time to choose a photographer. He is so lovely to be around and takes beautiful photos. I've heard such horror stories from friends who have worked with photographers that are grumpy and not so pleasant, so I was so happy Bruce was available to do our photo session ... and our WEDDING in October! He was not only accomodating with our request for shoot location, but he also had so many great ideas. We also hit Nay Aug park to do some photos in front of the holiday light displays! (last photo) We couldn't love the pictures more and our moms cried! :)

Can you tell we were FREEZING in this last one!? The hardest thing about this entire process was choosing which photos  we wanted! There was 140-something to choose from! The Save the Date photo is being kept off Facebook and the blog for now ... :) It's a sweet one.
So, that's a sneak peek at the engagement photos. Wedding planning is coming along quite nicely and my FIANCE is being SO helpful! Many women have told me not to expect my Fiance to help much when it comes to the planning, but John is good with techy stuff and has put those skills to work for the wedding. I'll get into that more in the next entry! Let's just say, he's being SUPER helpful!

12.10 Timelines & Progress!

Eeeeee! Things are moving along nicely with planning our big day. I'm an organized planner by nature, so while some people gasp when we tell them that we are planning to get married in the Fall, others say having just under a year is no big and all the time you need to plan a wedding. So ... I figured, it's time to get organized. I picked up this wedding planner/organizer at Barnes and Noble and it's already getting some good use. The folders are filled with flower, color, and cake ideas ... and the timeline is right on schedule. A lot of websites like TheKnot.com have a general timeline on them that they say you should follow to know when to book a DJ, shop around for a florist, sign with a venue ... you know that kind of thing ... and this planner has a super detailed one inside. I'm very happy and relieved to say ... we are RIGHT ON SCHEDULE according to the timeline. Phew! :) I can say with 100% certainty that PINTEREST has EVERYTHING to do with being on schedule. I'm full of ideas that are just ready to be executed thanks for my favorite time waster, Pinterest. If you're not already, you can follow me - my name is Amanda on 98.5 KRZ! :) I'll follow you back, too!

My friend Tanya and I have been hitting the gym and running the Ease into 5K program. Yup, i'm SWEATING for the WEDDING. I am not someone who enjoys working out and despise running, but I have to say, the feeling of being DONE with the workout is the BEST feeling ever. Unlike some people, I do not enjoy the act of exercise WHILE IT'S HAPPENING - not in the least ... but I feel AWESOME when it's over ... and because of that feeling, i'm committed to doing it. We are on week 4 of the program (it's an APP you can download for like $5 - and it's worth it!) The goal is to be able to run a 5K in a few weeks ... and hopefully we'll get to run a real one in the Spring when the weather is nicer.

Tanya actually gave John (my fiance! - that's so fun to say!) and I this ornament the other day. I love it! :)

So, over the weekend ... John and I visited a place we really really liked (more than any other) to have our wedding. We went over all of the details to write up a contract ... which makes it all feel like it's really happening now. I don't want to jinx anything, so for now I won't say WHERE ... but it's in the Poconos and of all of the venues were visited, this one stood out most for SO MANY reasons. Hopefully i'll be able to tell you we are signed and booked before the new year. :)

Any guesses where?

I'm Engaged!
Welcome to my BRIDAL BLOG! A little over a month ago, "Boyfriend" proposed and obviously, I said "YES!" Jeff and I were torn about what to call "Boyfriend" now that we're engaged and a lot of you were mixed about whether or not you wanted to know his real name, but incase you missed it, "Boyfriend" is now FIANCE and his name is John. :)

John and I have been together for about 2 and a half years. He's calm, cool, and collected ... and as many of you know, I'm the complete opposite. I guess it's true, opposites really DO attract. We couldn't be more excited to spend forever together and feel so blessed to have found eachother.
THE PROPOSAL: John completely surprised me. I LOVE surprises . . . but i'm kind of hard to surprise because I think 5 steps ahead of everything, so i'm always trying to guess things. Little did I know that a GIRLS DAY was going to end with a romantic proposal. So, my friend Tanya and I had a girls day. We went shopping all morning at Hobby Lobby for crafting stuff for Christmas. We literally spent 2 hours there - it's like Michaels on steroids. After Hobby Lobby, we had a day at the spa scheduled at Sapphire Salon and Spa. The works. We spent some time in the sauna with a bottle of champagne, then got a couples massage, (so much fun to do with a friend, we were laughing almost the entire time) then got manicures, pedicures, and blow outs. It was the perfect day of fun and relaxation. Sapphire really knows how to pamper a girl. They even did my makeup! Just when we were about to leave, Joelle (a girl who works there) handed me a mini treasure chest type of box that was filled with notes (memories) and coordinating photos. I soon realized it was from John and started crying. Instead of me continuing to write this story . . . Tanya was AMAZING and RECORDED the entire thing and then put together this incredible video. She's an awesome friend and having this video means so much to me. (Especially because I was so shocked and overwhelmed that I hardly remembered everything that happened)
