Invisalign Tray 11 of 18! Woo hoo!

I had a quick appointment this morning at Dr. Lawrence's office to get my 11th out of 18 total Invisalign trays! Can you see the difference? It's crazy how fast this is working to straighten my teeth ... that were once straight and shifted since having metal braces. I couldn't be happier that I decided to do this just a few months ago ... because now i'm almost done! Well, I have 7 more sets of trays ... so 14 more weeks! Not too bad! If you've been thinking about getting braces, don't keep putting it off! (288-5588 or Excelldent.com) Dr. L is SO nice and I love all of the ladies in his office ... they even knew today was Jeff's birthday! They asked me to wish him a Happy Birthday, so sweet!

Speaking of ...

I got the birthday boy a pair of shoes he was hinting at wanting! (This is my secret little trick to get him to wear something OTHER THAN neon sneakers! I told him these are his dates shoes!)

If you're self conscious about your smile or maybe like me had braces when you were younger and your teeth have shifted ... call Dr. L! This whole thing is flying by, i'm so happy I didn't wait any longer than I did and now i'm almost done! Dr. L is SO nice ... all of the ladies in his office are super friendly ... and they can hook you up with a consultation! 288-5588!

Graduation Weekend in RI!

It's no secret that I cry easily ... but the things that make me cry are SO random. John and I went home to RI to attend a couple college graduations/parties and I teared up when they started playing Pomp and Circumstance and the graduates marched through the crowd to their seats. I don't know what it is about ceremonial things like that, but I tear up every time. My cousin Brett graduated from Roger Williams University and my mom's boyfriend's daughter, Dina, graduated from Rhode Island College.

Me, Brett, and my Fiance John! :)

We went from his luncheon to a surprise graduation party for Dina!

I ordered cake pops from Dipped in Pittston as favors for her party. Look how awesome they came out?! Amy at Dipped is amazing! She really goes above and beyond ... and LOVES custom orders! Definitely give her a call for your next party ... everyone loved them!

I made one of these GIANT cards for the graduates! They were a big hit!

A great weekend ended with me being rushed to the hospital in excrutiating pain for what we later found out was a KIDNEY STONE! Ughhhhhhh! It felt a lot like a gall bladder attack (but I don't have one of those anymore!) it was terrible. Thankfully feeling much better today! :)

Guess what today is?!

Today is our 6 year anniversary! Our working anniversary! I started here at KRZ 6 years ago today! Reflecting on the last 6 years ... we've had a lot of laughs and i've been forced to do lots of things I wish I hadn't. Remember that time I inseminated a COW?!

That was SO gross. If you haven't watched that video yet ... definitely click on the link. But DON'T do it while you're eating. It's DISGUSTING!

Just wanted to say thank you for listening and welcoming me into your radio family! Here's to 6 more! :) XO

May is Skin Cancer/Melanoma Awareness Month

Hi friends! On this beautiful day I wanted to kick off the month of May, which happens to be Skin Cancer/Melanoma Awareness Month with some informational reminders! As many of you who listen to our show and read my blog know, I was diagnosed with Melanoma in August of 2011. It was by the far scariest thing i've ever faced and continues to be a part of my life every day moving forward.

The main thing I want to preach is to know your body! Know what the moles on your  body look like. Count them. Make a mental note of what they look like. If something new appears or something old changes - show your doctor. YOU are your first line of defense!

If you're interested in reading more about my experience with Melanoma, a beauty blog that I review products on did a Q&A with me for Skin Cancer/Melanoma Awareness Month. You can read it here! XO

This is the BEST visual explanation of the ABCDE's of Melanoma i've found. Mine was E - Evolving.

Are we REALLY out of toothpaste?

Yesterday the Fiance and I ran errands and had a lazy day. It was pretty awesome. While we were wandering through Target he said, "we're totally out of toothpaste." We grabbed out usual Crest 3D White and carried on. When we got back home, I brought the new toothpaste to the bathroom where I found the old tube in the trash. I don't know if you can tell from the top photo or not, but it doesn't really LOOK empty . . . and it wasn't!

I decided to cut open the toothpaste tube to see just how wasteful we really are. Thus, the bottom photo.

I was able to squeeze THAT MUCH toothpaste out of the bottom of the tube after cutting it open! EYE OPENING to say the least. This is totally going to make me think twice the next time I think we're ALL OUT!  That's a lot of product!

Boston Strong

I've been glued to the news, UStream feeds, and Twitter all morning since I woke up ... crazily seeking more information throughout the man hunt for Suspect 2 in the Boston Bombings. A few of you have asked where the National Anthem audio we played yesterday on the show came from. During all of this chaos, it seems most appropriate to continue to sharing this beautiful display of pride from the Bruins game the other night.

Invisalign Trays 6!

Wooo hoooo! I'm already 1/3 of the way through my INVISALIGN treatment! Last night I switch into my 6th (out of 18) set of Invisalign aligners! The top pic is from last night ... the bottom is from today! Slowly but surely ... it's coming along! I'm so glad I finally decided to do this. After wearing braces for 5 years as a kid, it was a total BUMMER to realize how much my teeth shifted over the past 10 or so years. I'll be all done around September and this whole thing is flying by. If Invisalign is something you've been thinking about ... I can tell you they are comfortable, easy to wear, easy to remove, and NO ONE CAN TELL I HAVE THEM! I'm wearing them in both of these photos! Awesome, right?

Call Dr. Stephen Lawrence for a consultation. He's really nice and so is everyone else who works in his office. It's a pleasant environment that you won't dread going to. Trust me, I wasn't a huge fan of the dentist before this experience either ... but his staff is lovely and makes it a nice visit each time! Call and get your consultation going now ... 288.5588! You can also see some before and afters at EXCELLDENT.com! :) Any questions? Feel free to comment or email me! XO

3.18 Spring Cleaning Turned Good For the Soul

I had the itch to dive into some SPRING CLEANING (a little early, I know) this weekend and man it felt good. We sent tons of clothes to donation and really got rid of the clutter. It was a nice cleansing! :) While I was sifting through the "STUFF" I found an old backpack I used in high school. You know, the LL BEAN ones with your monogram? Yup, I still have mine. Royal blue, it was my favorite. I was about to shove it back in the closet, but decided to check all of the zippers first. Inside the smallest one, I found a note from my late grandmother. She was like a second mom to me, growing up with a single parent ... my mom and Grammoo were my everything. She was one of my favorite people ever. My gram passed away shortly after I left for college.

I may have known this note existed before, but I don't remember it AT ALL. There in my backpack, I found this note from her. The first sentence said, "just a few words to let you know how proud I am of you." She signed it "LOL" before the days of texting. She meant it as LOTS OF LOVE.

I didn't know I needed this, but I definitely did. Turns out SPRING CLEANING can be good for your soul! :)
Have you ever found something meaningful while cleaning? Maybe something from a loved one who has since passed away?
