Shoe Change!

I signed a form at the bridal shop I bought my dress at that said I wouldn't buy my wedding shoes until my final fitting. Because of that, I haven't really even given what kind of shoes i'm going to wear any thought . . . but I DO already have my shoe change planned.

I'm not a huge fan of heels and to be totally honest, I walk funny in them. It's just so unnatural for me. My plan for the reception . . . sparkly Toms! My mom got them for me as a gift ... what do you think?

Are you planning to/did you change into flats for your reception?

Dress Shopping with the MOG!

Hey friends! At Guys Night Out For The Girls on Friday night I got yelled at by a few ladies that have been following this blog of my wedding planning and were wondering where i've been and why there haven't been many posts lately. Honestly ... I haven't done anything! I have a feeling this summer is going to be chock full of wedding choices and planning ... but it's been slow lately!

I do have an update though! Over the weekend, John's Mom, (or MOG as she likes to be called!) sister-in-law Patti, and sister Carolyn and I went dress shopping. It was a girls day! We went to the most amazing mall in New Jersey and ended up finding the Mother of the Groom a beautiful dress at Lord and Taylor. It fit her beautifully and looked amazing!

We had a great day that started with sunshine ... and then when we exited the mall we found that the skies opened up and it was downpouring! This is our SOAKED shot once we finally made it back to the car. My shoes are STILL wet today!

The only other update I have it ... our keys arrived! I mentioned before, our wedding theme is skeleton keys! John gave me a Tiffany key to his heart on our first Valentine's Day together. It seemed only appropriate that we used keys in the wedding decor. We ordered a ton of different keys on Etsy and they all arrived. Most will be used in the centerpieces ... but more on that later ;)

Pretty, huh?!

The next things on the wedding to-do list are ... map out the ceremony, make sure the girls order their bridesmaid dresses, and schedule hair and makeup! Going to need to call my hair favorites at Sapphire! :)

Happy planning BRIDES TO BE!

Adore this!

Hi friends! I've been quiet on the Bridal Blog lately because I honestly haven't accomplished A THING on the to-do list in a while. I have a feeling that means it's going to be one BUSY summer of wedding planning tasks, but we'll get it done. Actually I can't say that I haven't done ANYTHING, just nothing big. I've done a good amount of ordering from Etsy ... that's where I found all of the skeleton keys we are going to be using. I'll post a photo later this week! They are SO cute!

I wanted to share this listing I found on Etsy that I fell in love with. I'm going to be needing this after our wedding. This artist turns your wedding photo into an artistic illustration! Isn't that BEAUTIFUL!?

One More Thing DONE!

Hey my fellow brides-to-be and wedding lovers! I've been a little absent the past couple weeks because to be completely honest ... we haven't done much wedding-wise. According to the planning check lists we are right on schedule, but I couldn't help but to feel like we were falling behind by not checking anything off of the lists. This past weekend, I had to do SOMETHING ... so we ordered our stationary. The hardest part about this was perfecting our guest list in a ready to be printed Excel sheet. That was ALL John. He's really good with computers and i'm really good at giving instruction ... so he manned the keyboard and after 4-5 hours ... we got it done.

I mentioned a couple months ago that we decided to design our own stationary and we stuck with that plan. When we initially looked at stationary we liked, we couldn't seem to find anything simple enough that we liked. Everything was super busy ... or too fancy ... or just weird. Thankfully, my mom is super creative and offered to help me design our stationary ... so instead of ordering our stationary ready to send, we ordered the materials to design our own and print. I found a website called LCIPaper.com that sells all of the pieces separately. Order - PLACED! They'll print our envelopes (which saves us a TON of time) but everything else will be all us.

This is the color we chose for all pieces ... except for the actual invites. It's called Stardream Ruby! What do you think?

Hoping to cross a few more BIG things off the check list over the next week . . . FINGERS CROSSED! :) XO

199 Days til WE DO!

The WEDDING COUNTDOWN CLOCK that was passed down to us at our engagement party said 200 yesterday! I forgot to snap a picture, but that number continues to dwindle down, with so much left to do! 199 days until we say "I do" and there is still SO much to do! How are my fellow 2013 BRIDES TO BE doing with the wedding planning so far?

Like most women, I'm a sucker for a good greeting card. I keep them ALL. Unfortunately, keeping every greeting card everyone gives you can get messy, so I decided to try out a little trick I saw on PINTEREST! I made a little book out of the cards we got at our engagement party earlier this month. I punched two holes in each card and rung them with these rings! Bonus - I found an 8-pack of rings at Walmart for $2! Came out cute I think! I'm totally planning on doing this after our wedding too ... I love the little book of the cards! It was SUPER easy to do ... and if you have a 3-ring-hole punch, you can adjust the holes and bring 2 of them closer together! Easy peesy! :)
