I popped into Dr. Lawrence's office on Thursday and got my next set of Invisalign trays! I'm wearing them in the photo below! Can I just say . . . I'm SO happy I decided to go with Dr. L and Invisalign. So far, everything is going really well and moving along. I had all kinds of fears going into this after reading some blogs written by some dramatic people and honestly, my experience has been awesome. I wear the trays between 20-22 hours a day and I don't know if it's all in my head or not, but even after just 3 weeks, I feel like I can already start to see changes. This time around, Dr. L gave me 3 sets of trays to take home . . . so that I don't need to come in every 2 weeks to pick up new ones. I have all of trays I need to advance every other Thursday until March, when I'll go back in for a visit!
If you're curious about anything that I haven't blogged about yet, dropped me an email or a comment! I've received a few emails asking questions about whether or not it hurts, feels funny, or makes me talk funny. No, no, and not really! I talk funny for a few hours after I get a new set of trays, just because they are new and fit differently ... but then it goes away! Any pressure is a great reminder that your teeth are moving! Ahh I love it!
Still curious? Call Dr. Lawrence at 288-5588 and have an Invisalign consultation!!
Did a little redecorating over the weekend. I took all my old posters from high school and plastered them all over my living room!!! My parents made it happen actually - when they came out over Christmas they brought all these old things my Mom had been saving them in the attic (cuz she ROCKS!!! Haha!)
But then one of my girlfriends came over and she's like "If this were anybody but YOU Lissa, I'd think you lost your mind! Who puts up rock posters in their living room?!" Then we both laughed cuz it's sooooo obviously ME.
Do you think it's tacky or terrific? Awesome or awful? You won't hurt my feelings. Be honest. Keep in mind this is only one wall. The oher three look pretty much same..... haha... devil horns up..... DE-NEET!!! I have lost my mind.
It's Monday and the very 1st "Manic Monday Menu" where I will be sharing my recipes and cooking/baking tips with you, as well as from time to time sharing YOUR recipes and tips as well.
It's a baking kind of day with the weather we are having so...here we go! I'm starting off very simple and will give you more difficult recipes/tips as time goes by.
Today you'll get a recipe and a tip all in one...Do you have a lot of leftover christmas candy and don't know what to do with it?
Well, Bake with it and utilize it that way other than just eating it.
The recipe I made today and I am sharing with you is for:
"Manic's Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies"
Ingredients you will need:
1/2 cup softened butter
1/2 cup softened peanut butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 brown sugar
1 egg
1 1/4 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
Combine the first 5 ingredients and cream them together. Then add the remaining ingredients and mix till combined.
Form little balls (about a tablespoon of the dough) and place on a sheet tray. Bake for 8-10 minutes in a preheated oven at 375 degrees.
Immediately when removed from the oven, place a kiss in the center of each cookie and push down slightly.
Let completely cool so the kiss can reharden before serving.
Hope you enjoyed this useful tip on how to utilize leftover candy and this easy recipe that took hardly anytime to make.
If you have a recipe and/or tip you'd like me to feature in a future "Manic Monday Menu" or you have any questions you can email them to me at: manicmarc@entercom.com

A painless little prick! I didn't feel a thing. And that, along with your answers to a few questions is all it takes to possibly find a cure for Cancer.
Thanks to everyone that joined me Saturday for the Cancer Prevention Study at the Coal Street Ice Rink. All the volunteers with the American Cancer Society were over-the-top excited with the response. Let's keep it going!!!
If you've ever had a friend or family member diagnosed with Cancer, you've probably felt helpless. Now you can do something about it.
If you are between the ages of 30 and 65 and have never been diagnosed with Cancer go to www.penguinsfightcancer.org and volunteer to participate. It takes just a few minutes. And you can help create a world with less Cancer, and more birthdays.
The next enrollment is Tuesday January 29, 3-7:30pm at the Coal Street Ice Rink in Wilkes-Barre.
And if you can't make it, tell a friend!
Let's keep working together for a Cancer-free tomorrow!!!
And THANKS AGAIN for Saturday.
~Rock
Hangin' with my buds Brian Coe of the Pens and Jamie Kane from the American Cancer Society
Hey my fellow BRIDES-TO-BE and wedding lovers! :) I'm feeling quite accomplishment this week on the wedding front. Last weekend, John and I compiled our entire guest list and filled in 95% of the addresses in an excel sheet. (He's the computer fancy pants, not me! I just recited the addresses for him to enter!) That's a pretty big step in the process and it feels good to have all of that information stored and ready to go.
This weekend . . . we're meeting with some vendors and potential vendors! Tomorrow morning we're meeting with Bruce from I'mage Photo Studios (he did our engagement shoot!) to chat about our wedding day and photo stuff. He offers a really cool photo booth, so i'm excited to check that out and see some of his past wedding albums to get some ideas!
After that, we're meeting with a florist we're interested in working with! I've heard incredible things about them and can't wait to meet in person. Of all the undecided factors . . . this is one thing I am certain of . . . I FREAKING love this arch arrangement. It was a PINTEREST find that i'm hoping a florist can help us recreate for our big day. What do you think ladies . . . are you a fan? Are you planning to use branches in your arrangements?
By the way, if you're not following me on Pinterest and want to - just search Amanda on 98.5 KRZ. I'll follow you back. :)
XO Have a great weekend . . . hopefully i'll have some exciting things to post about on Monday after our meetings!
Hey friends! As many of you have probably come to realize by now, I'm a little psycho when it comes to planning and gift giving. I think about what i'm going to give people for their birthdays or other holidays months in advance and feel underwhelmed when I don't feel like I NAILED it. A girl named Ashlie who listens to our show emailed me about these necklaces and I was instantly in LOVE and had to tell you about them. This is a no-brainer AMAZING gift for any lady in your life from kid . . . to grown adult.
I had never seen these until now . . . but how darn cute are these necklaces? The company is called ORIGAMI OWL, but no, you don't fold paper or need to be crafty. They are necklaces that you get to customize to your liking and personality. T Everything from the chain to the charms . . . you pick it all. While you can choose to host a party and design the custom jewelry, you can also just order from Ashlie's website (which is super easy and convenient.) I can't wait to order these for some ladies in my life . . . the possibilities and designs are endless!
I put a camera, some headphones, a fleur de lis, cross, and key inside mine. (The one pictured to the upper left hand side.) Those are just things I love . . . but you can make yours look however you want!
When I saw these, I HAD to share them with you! Hope you like them as much as I do. Now to decide . . . who's getting these for their birthday . . . :)

My new little brother Michael and I had a blast watching the game.
Michael is a 13 year old GAR High School student. He's been in the Big Brother/Big Sister program for a few years. His former big brother moved away so he's waiting on a match.
This was our view of the game. We nicknamed our seats the "puck" seats. A couple of pucks landed just 3 rows in front of us!
There's your horn. Pens win 3-0!!!
It's always great when Tux hits up your section.
Check out Michael riding the Pens bench after the game. Where's your skates bud?
And we got a behind the scenes tour of the locker room. Here's Michael hanging with Pens goalie extraordinaire Brad Thiessen. Michael was grinning from ear to ear when Brad handed over his stick!
Thanks again to Brian Coe and the rest of the Penguins staff for making it a GREAT night.
Remember...Michael is one of hundreds of kids in NEPA in need of a mentor. And that mentor could be YOU!!!
In as little as 2 hours a week, you could make a HUGE difference in a young kid's life.
Be a hero...be a REAL hero. Volunteer today to be a big.

Lissa has a friend that was on a first date with a guy that texted DURING the date. I was surprised when Lissa gave the guy some slack.
Is this a deal breaker? Does is mean he's not into you?
My take? Unless the guy states up front that the reason he's on is phone is because he's got a sick family member, then I think the girl is getting played. Who is he texting DURING THE DATE? Bet the house. It's another chick he's working.
And if it ever happens to you, call the guy out on it. If he says "it's work", ask him what could be so important.
And guys...wouldn't the girl find you MORE ATTRACTIVE if your phone rang and you DIDN'T answer it?
What do you think?
Here's what a few of our listeners had to say.
~Rock
I think it depends on how much he was on his phone and if he was completely ignoring her. The world is all online social media through phones. Maybe he was updating his Facebook to tell everybody was on an awesome date.
I think I would have said "Is everything okay?" When he says why I'd say bc you've been on ur phone.
I'm a female and i answered my phone because there was nothing to talk about and he didn't care.
He isn't into you. If I was her I would ask who he is texting and if he said "a friend" I would either do 1 of 2 things: I will say put the phone away this is a date and if he doesn't put it away I'll just walk away.
I'm newly back into dating after 5 years and I recently dated this guy who was on his phone all the time...rude!! Then I just went out with someone who ignored his phone even if it rang. Not everybody does it, and those who do are rude. Once you know somebody well and are comfortable with them that's fine but it doesn't make a good first impression!
I think texty guy is just a tool. Run fast. Run far!
Maybe it was friends of his texting him asking if he needs to get bailed out or not and he was answering them saying no I don't need to get bailed out I'm good
I agree with Rocky. If it was very important he should tell her up front. I would do that anyway
I think thats terrible...but thats the new generation of technology...no one talks anymore..glad I grew up in the late sixties. Have a great day!
No, he was either not into her, playing her, or is just a jerk. Probably all three.
