This morning we celebrated Sue's 23 years waking up NEPA. Today was her last show, but it won't be the last time you will be hearing from her. She will be popping back up on KRZ from time to time.
Tears were shed, friends dropped in and a few drinks were consumed.

Sue: like many of us in nepa, I grew up listening to you and rocky. Through you I fell in love with radio and am a self-âconfessed radio geek. I went to college for radio and although I took a different path after I graduated I will always contribute my love of radio to you. Thank you. Good luck with everything, you will be missed

It’s been a pleasure hearing Sue for the fifteen years I've lived in Nepa. kickin it for music 1 and 2 & Halloween were a blast thank you for the memories.

It's been a weird week here at KRZ..... Sue's last day was today (in case you were on Mars and hadn't heard), so the morning show will be me & Rocky from now on, we had an intruder in the building on Monday, and Wednesday at Quaker Steak & Lube Bike Night an adorable girl named Mackenzie handed me her pet skunk (?).... Yep, strange week for sure.
But out of strangeness comes something cool...

I still don't know who did this, but I really appreciate it, especially because most of the nominees grew up here and I'm still relatively new. If you have a second, would you vote for me? And here's me with the skunk and the beautiful young Mackenzie. Ya know, I'm used to kids being cuter than me but Mackenzie was smarter and braver too. She showed me exactly how to hold the skunk and told me "don't be afraid". Haaa - I still was. I kept talking to it like Pepe Lepew but he never answered back.

How weird is this? Right before Sue was going to make her announcement, our tower was struck by lightning and we got knocked off the air!!!
Anyway, Sue announced that, after 23 years sitting across the studio from me at KRZ, she's going to focus her energy on her Real Estate career.
This Friday will be her last day on the air. But it won't be the last time you will be hearing from Sue. She'll be calling in from time to time, and will be filling in when Lissa is off.

Having known this amazing couple for, like, 17 years, this is SUCH a sad day! But we know Sue will continue her reign as Dark Mistress Of Real Estate and Rocky will continue to make you laugh so hard that coffee will squirt right out of your nose. We love you guys--health and happiness to you both.

Sue and I spent Saturday enjoying a beautiful day on the river for RiverFest 2012. You've couldn't have drawn up a more perfect day for kayaking.
We were 2 of about 200 kayaks that launched up river in Harding.
This kayaker has a doll straddling a "high-powered" gun on the front of his boat.
Sue said "Hey, I like your Barbie!".
"It's NOT a Barbie!", the guy screamed back.
Whatever!

Lunch break in West Pittston directly across the river from Coopers. After paddling for 2 hours, my peanut butter sandwich was one of the best tasting ever!
Just up river from the 8th Street Bridge we came across a reminder of September's flood.
Another shot of the house that was carried down river during the flood. It's still hard to believe the river could have been this high and so powerful. Most of the day we could touch bottom with our paddles.
That's Sue directly underneath the Cross Valley in Wilkes-Barre.
4 hours since we launched...the Luzerne County Courthouse and Pierce Street bridge.
This is the 3rd year we've paddled the river during RiverFest. If you've never gone, you've GOT TO TRY THIS. You will get a new appreciation of the river, from the inside out. And the mountainous view is simply breathtaking.

Good luck fatty! We’re rootin’ for ya, but seriously, society doesn’t wanna see you again til you’re thin!! Is this the message entertainment magazines are trying to send to Jessica Simpson? Poor girl’s been hired by Weight Watchers as their new spokesperson (she’s supposed to lose 50 pounds of baby weight in five months) and everyone’s jumping down her throat cuz she’s not doing it fast enough.
Magazine writers tend to resemble that bitchy girl in high school who insults you but then tags a compliment at the end so you can’t react or else YOU look like a mental patient. This morning Radar Online applauded Jessica for occasionally blowing off the gym because she didn’t wanna leave her baby daughter….. awww, right? But then they displayed THIS photo with the caption “Jessica’s been working out frequently, but she hasn’t shown off the results of her hard work yet”.
Oh gee - THANKS! (?) What a tremendous self-esteem boost that must be for her! Radar Online, you should open a ridicule-based weight loss center, where at the end of the program you’ll be down twenty pounds or have killed yourself. Oh wait, you already did. It’s called media. (BTW - I'd love to see the physically perfect human specimens at Radar Online, elbow deep in fast food wrappers, TYPING these stories at 2am... but I digress)
I know gossip mags are not in business to make people feel good about themselves, but I personally believe there are enough celebrities PLACING themselves in the ridicule spotlight (HI Snooki, J-Woww, Teen Moms, Real Housewives, Charlie Sheen, Kim Kardashislut) we don’t need to be chasing down new mommies, making them explain why they haven’t lost 50 pounds in a month! Jessica just HAD the baby in May - give her time! She could still eat Ashley Simpson and look better in shorty shorts than ninety percent of us. On a side note, someone really SHOULD eat Ashley. I mean, who lip syncs on SNL and does a hoe-down? That was just weird.
